Glossary of terms
Active Player | A player eligible for a pot. |
ADD. Rake Percentage | Any additional percent that is added to the rake percentage. |
All-In | Players has wagered their entire in-game credit in the outcome of a hand. An all-in player can only win that portion of the pot or pots to which they have contributed. |
Betting Round | A complete cycle from the time the Dealer deals the cards and first bettor makes his/her wager, to the last person to call. |
Big Blind | A forced bet normally double of small blind placed into the pot by one player before the game begins. |
Burn card | Playing cards dealt from the top of a deck, discarded, and unused by the players are always not shown. |
Call | A wager made in an amount equal to the immediately preceding wager. |
Card Shoe | A tool from which cards can be drawn. |
Check | To abstain from betting but continue to stay in contention for the pot by retaining the right to re-enter the betting after all other players have either made wagers or folded. A check shall only be an option if no blind is placed or bet is made. |
Community Cards | The cards dealt and placed in the middle of the table for all players and use to complete their hands. |
Casino Dealer | The casino employee responsible for dealing the game. |
Dealer Button | A marker used to designate the player who shall receive the last card of each round of play. |
Face Value | The ranking of cards in descending order of Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, except where an Ace counts as Ace low in a Straight Flush or Straight. |
Five Odd Cards | A 5-card hand comprising of multiple suits, where all five cards are not sequential and different in Face Value. |
Flop Cards | The first three community cards drawn. |
Fold | To surrender a hand face downwards on the table or refuse to call to a wager. |
Foul Cards | A hand that is ruled unplayable because of an irregularity, such as being found with too many or too few cards, having been mixed with other decks of cards. If 2 or more cards of the same suit and rank are found. A card is face up in the shoe. |
Hand | The combination of hole and community cards. |
Heads Up | Where there are only two players contesting for the pot. |
Hole Cards | The two cards dealt face down to the player. |
In-game credit | Refers to the credit that is use for betting. |
Initial Deal | The first two cards dealt to the players. |
Last to Act | The player who is "last to act" is the player who has the last action on any particular street (Flop, Turn, and River). |
Player’s Hand | A 5-card hand comprising of the player’s hole cards and the Community cards. |
Private Channel | The game channel can be made into a private channel. Only invited players can access the game. |
Post Blind | Newly join player putting an amount equal to the big blind. |
Pot | The accumulation of amounts wagered by players during a round of play. |
Rake Amount | The fee taken from the pot by the R-Live. |
Rake Percentage | This is a percentage of the pot that the R-Live takes as a fee. |
Raise | A bet within the table limits, that is an implicit call plus an amount in excess of the previous bet or raise, by at least as large an amount, except in the case of an all-in raise. |
River Card | The fifth community card drawn. |
Showdown | The disclosure of cards in accordance with these rules at the completion of a final round of betting to determine a winner of a pot. |
Small Blind | A forced bet normally half the big blind placed into the pot by one player before the deal begins. |
Table Buy In | The minimum or maximum amount in chips required by a player to join a game. |
Total Rake amount | It is the sum of rake amount and ADD. Rake amount. |
Turn Card | The fourth community card drawn. |
Void | To invalidate a hand or a Round of Play and to return the wagers to the players. |
Wager | The placing of gaming chips into the pot, on any betting round. |
Winning Amount | The rake amount that has been deducted to the pot. |
